32-1799 - Burkhardt Offset Magneto Assembly

Burkhardt offset magneto assembly is for the generators on 1936-1969 Kuncklehead Panhead and Shovelhead engines. The offset drive allows the magneto head to clear the cylinders and lower head fins. Includes a natural die cast finish body red and cast magneto cover with a cast cap an offset base drive left hand Magneto head Burkhardt alloy cover and retro wire set. *NOTE: Assembled in NY. *NOTE: Actual Magneto rotation is left hand. Points and point plate holder are also left handed. *NOTE: Cap will require additional clearance in motor-case-head area near front cylinder. *NOTE: For mounting on all generator model Overhead Twins 1941-1969 Knucklehead Panhead and Shovelhead models. Must use 2 bolt to mount to engine case. 1966-1969 models have a 1/4 inch-20 stud and 1941-1696 models have a 1/4 inch-24 thread. For the 1965-1969 Shovelhead model single stud cases it's advisable to drill and tap a second 1/4 inch-20 hole for the 2 bolts. *NOTE: Must check for clearance with aftermarket heavy duty cases magneto aluminum base may interfere with motor case at distributor base area. Compatible with 1966-1969 cases that use a single stud distributor mount. An additional hole can be added if needed. Remove the existing stud before installation.
